Wellness Wednesday – Drink half your body weight in ounces

It’s almost a hundred degrees out in Pennsylvania and I just wanted to give you a health tip today for Wellness Wednesday focusing on the importance of drinking water and being hydrated at this time being so hot. What you want to do is to be able to drink at least half your body weight in ounces and drink pure water because water is really the only thing that quenches the thirst and allows the body to receive the 75% water that is to be replenished each day from the body.

Water is very important. When we drink other beverages – juice, even flavored water, it does not treat or it does not behave in the body the same as pure water does. You could add lemon to your water, you could add other things to your water but water is important to get today in the body. If you’re at the beach, or at a construction site, or in the street, you want to be drinking enough water to hydrate the body. A lot of times, people pass out because they don’t drink enough water when it’s this hot.
